The Royal Ghassanid Academy of Arts and Sciences is a high academic institution based in Bonn, Germany and with representation in the Lebanon, Jordan, Brazil, the United States and Canada. Its purpose is to congregate acclaimed scholars and artists from all over the world to promote culture in all its manifestations and expressions. Another main goal is to bring education to poor countries, especially in the Middle East. It’s under the auspices and protection of the Sovereign Imperial and Royal House of Ghassan which is accredited by the United Nations with the Special Consultative status since 2016. The Royal Academy is under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Dr. Thomas Schirrmacher, PhD, ThD, an internationally recognized scholar with over one hundred books published.

Thomas Paul Schirrmacher (born 25 June 1960) is a German Christian moral philosopher and a specialist in the Sociology of Religion and religious freedom. He is known as a global human rights activist and holds a chair in Theology (Ethics, Missiology, World Religions). Schirrmacher served the World Evangelical Alliance (the world’s second-largest Christian organization with 600 million followers worldwide) as secretary general from 2021–2024 and as chair of the Theological Commission. He is also an Anglican realignment bishop.
Since 2014 he is president of the International Council of the International Society for Human Rights[1] and of the International Institute for Religious Freedom. On June 12th, 2017, His Excellency the President of the Republic of Albania Bujar Nishani became a senior fellow and life member of the Royal Ghassanid Academy of Arts & Sciences.
He graduated at the Skanderbeg Military University in 1988, and followed up in 1996 with master's studies on "defense resources management" in the United States at the Naval Postgraduate School. In 2004, he graduated from the Law Faculty of University of Tirana, where he also studied jurisprudence. He completed his master's degree in European studies in 2005.
The appointment was handed at the Presidential Palace in Tirana, Albania,. Fellows are entitled to wear the Order's academic hood, an Oxford full shape made of scarlet material and lined with white silk.
The Royal Ghassanid Order of Arts and Sciences
The medal bears the effigy of HRH Prince Sheikh Nassif El Chemor (1945-2017). The prince was chosen because of his altruism. Sheikh Nassif served as mayor of Kferhata and was a well-known and awarded writer and researcher. He helped thousands of people by giving thousands of his books and documents to several university students and the community.
Recipients have somehow contributed to the House and/or the world in the Arts and Sciences.

Disclaimer: The Ghassanids are one of the first Christian knights in history but weren’t organized in orders ‘per se’. Therefore, although the Royal House of Ghassan has ancient authority as pioneers’ Christian knights it doesn’t claim any legatary connection with any historical order of chivalry or merit.
